Feb 14   In the year 1009 first known mention of Lithuania, in the annals of the monastery of Quedlinburg.   

Oct 18   The Church of the Holy Sepulchre, a Christian church in Jerusalem, is completely destroyed by the Fatimid caliph Al-Hakim bi-Amr Allah, who hacks the Church's foundations down to bedrock on this day in history.   

Dec 14   In the year 1009 birth of emperor Go-Suzaku of Japan (d. 1045)
